Questions

Ground-Up Construction questions

Do you finance the land?

Some programs include land acquisition, and others require you to own the land. Equity in the land can count toward your contribution.

How do construction draws work?

You complete a milestone, an inspector verifies the work, and the lender releases the funds for that stage.

Do I need construction experience?

Experience matters most in construction lending. Newer builders can strengthen a file with an experienced general contractor.

What happens when the build is done?

Sell the property, or refinance into a long-term loan such as DSCR if you keep it as a rental.
